The Foundation hosts parent networking groups once a month in a variety of areas geared toward the exchange of information, inspiration and support, especially for parents who are interested in alternatives to common practices. These groups are facilitated by Dr. Dawson who masterfully combines facilitation and coaching to help parents address their own questions while maximizing the networking opportunity with other parents in similar situations.  Ongoing areas of support include but are not limited to parents or caregivers of children with:

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Learning Disabilities

Autism

Overall Nutrition and Health

Personal Consultations, Group Consultations, and Coaching
As a trained psychologist and certified professional coach, Dr. Dawson has been working with parents and families for over 15 years on a multitude of areas including general parenting and special needs. Her work focuses on empowering parents to make the best decisions for their children while providing practical tools and information. Her ground-breaking philosophy of holding families, children and parents as “whole” and not “broken” is thematic in her work and gives parents an new, innovative way of looking at their situations. Dr. Dawson’s practice includes short-term consultations and ongoing one-on-one coaching sessions. She is also available to lead workshops for other organizations and associations.

Workshops & Special Events
The Foundation holds workshops and special events in a variety of areas all focusing on the health and well-being of children. In partnership with local and national guest speakers and leaders, The Foundation brings quality information and experiential learning to it’s community. In March, The Foundation hosted a nationally renowned physician, Dr. Kenneth Bock, to speak about his perspective of the current childhood epidemics ADHD, Autism, Allergies and Asthma and the link between them. In April, Dr. Dawson led a workshop for mothers entitled “Mastering the Balancing Act: Getting Off the Tightrope and onto Solid Ground.” This workshop allows mothers to look at their whole life, find where they are in and out of balance with their values, and gives them action steps to move toward more balance. The Foundation’s May event will be the “Cleaning Out Your Pantry 101” workshop for parents who want more information about healthier food choices for their families and simple steps they can take to provide better alternatives. Click here to learn about upcoming workshops and events

Community Giving
The Foundation’s efforts focus on the well-being and health of ALL children. A large part of The Foundation’s membership is to give philanthropically to other families and children who need angels in their lives. These efforts are for the whole family to participate in, even those with young children. Having families and The Foundation community act together gives everyone the opportunity to share their gifts and talents with others while empowering youth, building self-esteem, and learning that they are integral parts of their community and the world.
